How long will lash extensions stay on?

Most eyelash extensions look great between 2 and 4 weeks. During that time, the extensions will continue to look and feel full and fluffy. When your eyelashes stop looking and feeling good, you'll need to go back to your eyelash artist for a retouch. Touchups are generally cheaper than the original set of eyelashes.

The only way to remove your eyelashes is with a serious professional. You'll end up tearing out or breaking your eyelashes if you try it yourself, and it's not worth it. They usually last between three and four weeks, but don't be surprised if you replace them again before then. If you end up curling your lashes with an eyelash curler, Richardson recommends the type that heats your lashes like a miniature curler, such as the Envious Lashes heated eyelash curler.

A typical treatment involves 80 to 140 individual extensions per eye, with eyelashes ranging in length from 6 to 18 mm, according to Richardson. Ramy Gafni, famous makeup and eyebrow guru, advises opting for extensions that align with the shape of your existing lashes, rather than extra long and dramatic lashes. That's why Shin ends each date by handing you a soft pink sponge and teaching you how to comb your eyelashes daily. If you take proper maintenance measures, you can keep your lashes full and fluffy for as long as possible.

Also, be sure to do it with a silk pillowcase so that, if you turn around, your eyelashes are pampered and less likely to get caught. If you really care for them (more on that later), eyelash extensions can last six to eight weeks until they fall out naturally, as your eyelashes usually do. Unlike strappy eyelashes, eyelash extensions are individually glued to natural hair, so they are highly customizable and look real. So, before my own wedding, it was very out of place for me to make an appointment to get eyelash extensions.

Your eyelashes can get tangled when you sleep or shower, so brush gently with a clean brush when you wake up, after showering, and at the end of the day. If you want more volume, the eyelash technician can apply a few hair extensions to a single natural eyelash, commonly referred to as a fan eyelash or volume eyelash. As eyelashes grow above the lash line where they started, the spool could get stuck and pull the lashes out, so at that point, Phillips suggests using only the tip of the spool to separate the hairs from the lashes and prevent them from coming out. If you don't want touch-ups and want to remove your extensions naturally, you'll have to wait almost 8 weeks for the last piece to fall off.

And with hybrid eyelash extensions, your eyelash technician can combine them and add a fan where you want more volume, and reduce it with simple ones.
